Olso killer claims collaborators while country mourns loss.

E-mail Stampa PDF

On Monday, Judge Kim Heger ordered eight weeks detention for the Norwegian man who admitted to the bombing and shooting massacre that killed over 90 people last week.

Heger says that Anders Behring Breivik, 32, will be locked up with no prospect of incoming letters, media or visiters, aside from his lawyer, even though a trial could be up to a year away.

Breivik is an anti-Islamic zealot who had previously claimed sole responsibility for Friday’s attacks, though in his most recent statement he said that “there are two more cells in our organization.” These claims need further investigation.

Declaring in a rambling 1,500 page online manifesto, Breivik said that he acted to save Europe from Islamic threats. He denies any criminal guilt, claiming that he was on a self appointed mission to stop dangers of immigration and multi-culturalism.

In an overwhemling attempt at showing respect for the recently deceased, the people of Norway pushed thier anger about the worst massacre in thier modern history aside, for a minutes silence. King Harold, along with Prime Minister, Jens Stoltenberg, stood at the steps of Oslo University to declare the solemn silence. Nordic neighbors Sweden, Finland and Denmark also held official minute's silences in honour of the departed. All over, cities came to a standstill, people stopped thier cars and got out, standing motionless for the rememberence.

Many of the notes left amoung the carpet of flowers at Oslo cathederal where quotes from the speech made by Stotlenberg on Sunday; they read “if one man can show so much hate, think of how much love we all can show together.”
