di Ivan De Stefano
Painter and poet, he has given more than 500 works
also to charity Sinalunga – it is surprising for an art critic to find
out about the existence of an association named Cipolletti's
friend's in a village not far from Siena, namely
Sinalunga.
This fact aroused my curiosity, and I felt I wanted to
meet the painter and poet Adriano Cipolletti. I immediately
realized I was not only in front of a brilliant
poet, but also of a fine painter and, most of all,
a good, sincere and lonely man. I then understood
the reason why his fans created this association to
be beside him and take care of his work.
Cipolletti has given away more than 500 paintings, some as a
gift to friends, and some to charity. They are indeed
pieces of art, to describe which I had to refer to Van
Gogh and Ligabue, not has much as for an artistic
resemblance, but for Cipolletti's humanity. A thin,
skinny figure whit inquisitive eyes and nervous
energy that helped him overcome a recent illness.
In his studio, given to him by one of his friend's, he
jumps from one canvas to the other whit an unstoppable
creative energy. Is he a surrealist? Or is he a
visionary artist who modifies contemporary reality
creating a future world that will never see humans,
a future that won't see humans dominating nature
which, instead, will be the one to rule reasonless
human being's? Cipolletti's art rises from his interiority
and flows sincerely and immediately.
In Sinalunga and around Cipolletti is very well known, just
a his friend Rosy Bindi, and yet he does not boast
around about it, something for which the vice president
of the Chamber of Deputies is very grateful
and appreciates him. In Sinalunga he is called' poet
who caresses colours', he is indeed a poet and his
paintings are colour caresses.
I learned from my father that a life without love for
beauty in all its form is a barren and hopeless life" he
whispered to my ear. This statement sums loneliness,
hope, and the beauty of living through creativity. He
expresses this in a poem "Sono migliori le attese".
"Nel primo mattino, anche nel freddo dell'acqua che
bagna il tuo viso, tu chiedi al giorno conferma e speranze".
Art is seen as a representation of our inadequacy,
of a humility far from rhetoric. This is Cipolletti's
philosophy. We judging him as an artist, can
only say that his paintings are created by the genius
in him, naked has a child that runs happy and free.
Without very social constraints or false conventions,
without any rules.
These are the reasons why we are presenting him at
Terme Antica Querciolaia in Rapolano (Siena) for the
month of November. It will be an interesting surprise
for those who, just like him, deeply love art.
